Begunia plants are native to South east asia, Africa and Central / South America.

The begunia flower is related to pumpkins, gourds, melons, squash and cucumbers.

Begonias cannot tolerate freezing temperatures.

They are easy to grow in indoors as well as outdoors.

Begunia flowers bloom in a variety of colours.

The average size of the begunia is between 8 inches to 2 feet.

There are about 1500 species of begunia.

Begonias grow well in warm climates especially in fertile and well-drained soil.

Begonia seeds are one of the smallest. About 3 million seedlings can be produced by just 1 ounce of seeds.

During ancient times, sword blades were polished using begonias.
