INTERESTING FACTS - SPOTTED SALAMANDER

These amphibians are experts in hiding and are not easy to spot among leaves as they easily camouflage themselves. They are nocturnal by nature. 
They live in the forests of Canada and eastern United States. They are carnivores.
They grow upto 07 inches. Their average life span is 20 years.
During daytime, they use the borrows of other animals as their hideouts Their eggs hatch in about 20 to 60 days.
They also start their lives in a larval stage, The glands on their backs produce a foul-tasting toxin to deter predators .
