Gooseberries are native to North Africa and Eurasia.

Gooseberries can come in any of the following colours - green, red, white, and yellow

There is evidence to believe that gooseberries were first cultivated in England (1276).

Gooseberry belongs to the species of Ribes. Incidentally, the currant also belongs to the same species.

Gooseberry grows in the form of a shrub. It can grow 4 to 6 feet in height and 6 feet in width.

Gooseberries produce small, bell-shaped flowers. 

Gooseberries bloom during the spring

8 to 10 pounds of fruit can be produced per season from one gooseberry bush.

Gooseberries are an excellent source of Vitamin C.

Gooseberries can make your hair healthy and smooth.

Gooseberries can regulate sugar levels.

In India, they are popularly known as Amla.
