IMO Syllabus for Class 5

Section 2: Mathematical Reasoning
This section tests the student's aptitude in mathematics, especially their ability to apply their knowledge of numbers and problem-solving abilities.
The section includes 20 questions and carries a total of 20 marks.
The topics include - Data Handling, Symmetry, Area of Rectangle and Square, Perimeter of Various Shapes, Angles, Geometrical Shapes and Solids, Conversions, Measurement of Length, Weight, Capacity, Time, Temperature and Money, Fractions and Decimals, Computation Operations, Number names and Number Sense (7 and 8 digit numbers), Numerals..
Section 3: Everyday Mathematics
This section assesses the student's understanding of the application of mathematics in daily life and real-world circumstances.
This section includes 10 questions and carries a total of 10 marks.

Section 4: Achiever's section
This section is designed to challenge students to think more critically and use higher-order thinking abilities to solve complex problems. This section includes five questions and carries a total of 15 marks.
