IMO Syllabus for Class 2

The IMO for Class 2 has a total of 35 questions across four sections and a time duration of 60 minutes to complete the test. The total marks for the International Mathematics Olympiad are 40. Here is a breakdown of the four sections in the syllabus and the exam pattern of Class 2 IMO:

Section 1: Logical Reasoning

The topics include Patterns, Odd One Out, Measuring Units, Geometrical Shapes, Analogy, Ranking Test, Grouping of Figures, Embedded Figures, Coding-Decoding.

Section 2: Mathematical Reasoning

This section tests the student's aptitude in mathematics, especially their ability to apply their knowledge of numbers and problem-solving abilities.

The section includes 10 questions and carries a total of 10 marks.

The topics include Numerals, Number names and Number Sense (3-Digit Numbers), Computation Operations, Length, Weight, Capacity, Time, Temperature, Money, Lines, Shapes and Solids, Pictographs, Patterns.

Section 3: Everyday Mathematics

This section assesses the student's understanding of the application of mathematics in daily life and real-world circumstances.

This section includes 10 questions and carries a total of 10 marks.

The syllabus for this section is the same as that of Section 2.

Section 4: Achiever's section

This section is designed to challenge students to think more critically and use higher-order thinking abilities to solve complex problems. This section includes five questions and carries a total of 10 marks.
