Animal Habitat Sorting Activity for Kindergarteners

Posted by Olympiad Tester on

Let's have some fun and learn about different habitats with this free kindergarten worksheet! Here are the animals we will be learning about: rattlesnake, sea horse, stingray, raccoon, walrus, gopher, hedgehog, and moose.

To start, we need to know what a habitat is. A habitat is a place where an animal lives. Just like you have your home, animals also have their homes. But instead of a house, they have a special place in nature that they call home.

Now, we will learn about four different habitats: ocean, polar, forest, and desert. Each habitat has its own unique characteristics that make it special.

  1. Ocean habitat: This habitat is found in the big, blue sea. It's home to many different creatures like the sea horse, stingray, and walrus. Let's glue these animals on the blue paper to show they belong to the ocean habitat.

  2. Polar habitat: This habitat is found in the coldest parts of the world, like the North and South Poles. It's home to animals like the walrus and moose. Let's glue these animals on the white paper to show they belong to the polar habitat.

  3. Forest habitat: This habitat is found in areas with lots of trees and plants. It's home to animals like the raccoon and hedgehog. Let's glue these animals on the green paper to show they belong to the forest habitat.

  4. Desert habitat: This habitat is found in hot, dry places like the Sahara Desert. It's home to animals like the rattlesnake and gopher. Let's glue these animals on the yellow paper to show they belong to the desert habitat.

Great job! Now you know about four different habitats and the animals that live in them. Keep exploring and learning about nature!
