About the Competition
Theme: "Our Common Wealth: Transforming our Common Future"
The next Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), set to occur in Samoa in October 2024, focuses on 'One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth.' This theme underscores the imperative for resilient societies amid global challenges, particularly pertinent for Small Island Developing States like Samoa, which are significantly impacted by climate change.
The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2024 invites young writers to contemplate adversity, resilience, and hope in the face of global issues. Recognizing the vital role of community and culture, participants are encouraged to explore how these elements can foster resilience and inspire positive change.
Awards
Top Prize: The top two winners from each category will receive a trip to London for a week of educational and cultural events, culminating in a special Awards Ceremony at a royal palace.
Recognition: All successful entries will receive a Certificate of Participation. Additionally, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards will be granted to outstanding entries.
