How did India got its name?
@Rishik N India's name was originally derived fron the Sindhu river( Indus)

'India' and 'Bharat' are the two terms we often use for refering to our country. About 2500 years ago the Iranians and Greeks came to India through the northwest side. They were familiar with the river Indus and called it 'Hindos' or 'Indos'.
The east of the river Indus was called 'India'. A group of people in the northwest side of the river were known as 'Bharata'.
Subsequently, the same name was used for our country.
