ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The UNE PhD Innovation Research Award (UNE PIRA) is offered to meritorious international candidates who wish to enroll in the Doctor of Philosophy (Innovation) (PhD.I) research degree at UNE. For the shortlisted candidates, the scholarship will be a full-time opportunity for a period of four years. The students will be required to take the first and the last year of study on campus at UNE while also receiving an annual stipend of AUD 27,596.
The award is being granted by The University of New England. For over 60 years, the University of New England has been a leader in providing distance education to students throughout the world and Australia.
ELIGIBILITY
This scholarship opportunity is available to students applying for the PhD (Innovation) only.

Note: The Statement of Support should be from their proposed principal supervisor. It is to be mailed at hdrdocuments@une.edu.au before the closing date of the scholarship or it may be supplied by the Supervisor to the student for attachment to the application form.

Can my scholarship be withdrawn or cancelled?
A. The scholarship of a student may be withdrawn or cancelled if they fail to meet their ongoing eligibility requirements, as clearly specified by the terms and conditions of their scholarship. It is the students' responsibility to be aware of any ongoing eligibility requirements in the terms and conditions of their scholarship.

Can I apply for more than one scholarship?
A. As far as a student meets the eligibility criteria and is able to provide relevant documentation, they may apply for multiple scholarships. However, if they are selected for multiple scholarships they are required to select one and accept that.

Where can I find the application closing dates for scholarships?
A. The closing date for all the scholarships can be found on the scholarships page. Application information for each scholarship is updated on a regular basis.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A scholarship student must be an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003.
The candidates must not have completed a research degree at the same level as the proposed scholarship specifies, or at a higher level.
Selected candidates must be able to provide relevant evidence of their embeddedness in a suitable industry context, which could include government or non-government agencies, aid organisations or industry.
All applicants must provide two referee reports. The University will not request reports on their behalf.
